The AA Diamond Rating System offers an alternative to Self-Rating, which in the consumer’s eye is below standard.

The AA Diamond Rating System uses state of the art technology and independently and objectively rates all aspects of Accommodation, Cleanliness, Appearance, Amenities, Maintenance and Facilities.

Some of the types of accommodation but not limited to include:- Apartments, Beach Houses, Cabins, Caravan Parks, Campervans, Cottages, Holiday Parks, Hotels, Hotel/Motels, Houses, House Boats, Motels, Motor Inns, Pubs, Resorts and Villas.

Properties are officially assessed over a period of twelve to eighteen months and granted a Diamond Rating between one and five diamonds with smaller diamonds granted to properties where the level of assessment exceeds the requirement by offering more amenities, facilities and/or services to guests.

As a generalisation, the Diamonds displayed on Websites or the exterior of an accommodation complex are based on cleanliness, level of accommodation provided, facilities offered, services provided, overall atmosphere, charm and other selected criteria.
